Design Features:

Manual Gear Actuators feature a cast -iron housing with sintered bronze bearings on each end of the input shaft for durability and performance. The ductile iron gear provides strength for robust applications and a long service life without maintenance. Manual Gear Actuators are available with hand wheel, chain wheel or a 2" (50mm) square nut input option. All Manual Gear Actuators feature external position indication and are available with safety lockout devices.

Design Features:

G-Series Actuators are available on large butterfly and plug valves where constant high torque capability throughout the stroke is required. They feature a rack-and-pinion design and are engineered for high-flow, high-cycle applications. They are available with either manual, cylinder or motor actuator input. The G-Series line of actuators provides a long service life and features a rugged, heavy cast gear sector. Multiple bronze and stainless steel bearings provide support and minimize friction to assure smooth operation and throttling action.

Design Features:

The link-arm mechanism allows the LA-Series actuator to provide characterized closure which slows valve travel and increases torque as the disc comes into the seat. The actuators feature high compressive strength yoke nut bearings which ensure reliable operation and increase cycle life. It is also self-locking, maintaining valve position under varying flow conditions. LA-Series actuators are sized to operate with a maximum input of 450 foot pounds on 2" (50mm) square operating nuts, and an 80 pound rim pull on handwheels and chainwheels. The pointer on weatherproof actuators clearly indicates the valve position marked on the top of the housing. The indicator shaft is sealed to keep moisture from entering the actuator housing. Open and closed position stops are easily adjustable by simply repositioning the stop nut on the input shaft.

MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION:
Cast-iron housing in buriable or weatherproof construction. One-piece yoke machined from a ductile iron casting. Carbon Steel input shaft and aluminum bronze yoke bearing. Buried service actuators are grease filled per AWWA C504.

INPUT TORQUE:
Capability of 450 foot pounds against the open and closed position stops as standard.

TYPES:
Hand wheel, chain wheel or 2" (50mm) square nut options.

M-Series Actuators

DeZURIK M-Series Actuators


Design Features:

The actuator consists of a scotch yoke mechanism which is fully enclosed. The scotch yoke mechanism allows the M-Series actuator to provide a torque curve matching the torque requirements of the valve. The thread system of the traveling nut is self-locking, maintaining disc position under varying flow conditions. The M-Series is available with either a position indicator standard weatherproof design or can be purchased in a buriable option. As sized on BAW butterfly valves, the actuator requires a rim pull of 80 pounds or less on the hand wheel or chain wheel; with a 2" (50mm) nut, the input torque requirement is 150 foot pounds or less. Optional extension accessories are available.

INPUT TORQUE CAPABILITY:
As required by AWWA C504, an input torque capability of 300 foot pounds against the open and closed position stops is standard. A 450-foot-pound capability is available as an option.

OUTPUT TORQUE:
550 foot pounds.

Design Features:

The rack-and-pinion design of PowerRac® Actuators provides high-operating torque for accurate control in modulating services, and high opening torque for on/off services. The unique square collet coupling rigidly clamps the drive pinion to the valve shaft, eliminating backlash in the drive connection. This rigid connection allows thrust from the cylinder to precisely position the valve. Positioners are solidly mounted on the actuator housing with a square nut, feeding exact valve position directly to the positioner. No lost motion assures accurate valve positioning. The modular design and compact size allow the actuator to be close coupled to the valve. Standard ISO bolt circle allows PowerRac® Actuators to be used on all DeZURIK quarter turn valves. Double-acting or fail-safe spring-return cylinder options are available.

Rotary Diaphragm Actuators

DeZURIK Rotary Diaphragm Actuators


Design Features:

DeZURIK diaphragm actuators are designed specifically for use on quarter-turn valves. They feature all steel, cast iron and stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance in caustic environments. The actuators are designed for on-off or modulating service in either a fail-open or fail-closed mode. Action can be easily changed in the field with no additional parts required. The spring cartridge is caged at the factory for increased safety. The output shaft is supported at the top and bottom with bronze bearings that absorb side thrust and insure smooth, efficient, and accurate throttling control.
